The NFL celebrates USA Football Month during the preseason each August with youth football scrimmages in NFL venues, USA Football messages on network telecasts and in-stadium banners and field stencils. USA Football is the official youth football development partner of the NFL and its 32 teams.
Throughout October, NFL games feature pink game apparel, on-field pink ribbon stencils, special game balls and pink coins - all to help raise breast cancer awareness. All apparel worn by players and coaches along with the game balls and coins are auctioned at NFL Auction with proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society.
The NFL takes pride in supporting military personnel and raising awareness of the sacrifices they make. During November, teams display Salute to Service-branded elements in stadiums, including goal post wraps, pylons with camouflage ribbon decals, wall banners and "Salute to Service" written in the back of the end zone.
The mission of NFL PLAY 60 is to make the next generation of youth the most active and healthy. In October 2007, the NFL launched PLAY 60 - a national youth health and fitness campaign focused on increasing the wellness of young fans by encouraging them to be active for at least 60 minutes a day.
