Community Captain

The Carolina Panthers believe there is more to being a great leader than simply having great talent. The Community Captain program recognizes outstanding high school football student-athletes in North and South Carolina who have demonstrated strong leadership skills on and off the field and encourages these individuals to continue to be leaders and role models in their communities.

Each fall, the Panthers will honor 10 elite high school student-athletes who excel on the field and in the classroom and play an active role in their respective communities as Community Captains. In order to be considered as a Community Captain, the individual must meet the following criteria:

  • 3.0 or higher grade point average
  • Voluntary community service record (i.e. camp instructor, participation in school food drive/toys for tots program, mission trips, visits to nursing homes/hospitals, involvement with Boys & Girls Club/YMCA programs or other service projects.)

Winners will receive an authentic and personalized Community Captain game ball in addition to being honored during an on-field ceremony at a Panthers home game.

All high school senior student-athletes in North and South Carolina are eligible for the Community Captain award. Nomination forms can only be accepted from high school coaches, athletic directors, principals or teachers. Download a Community Captain nomination form.
