Carolina's training camp home is Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C., where the Panthers have trained each summer since their inaugural season in 1995. Wofford has one of the NFL's finest training facilities, hosting the team in the school's 60,000-square-foot Richardson Physical Activities Building. The training camp has been ranked in the top five in the league for fan friendliness by Peter King of Sports Illustrated.
The Spartanburg Convention and Visitors Bureau offers a variety of free information on entertainment, family attractions, events, top-rated restaurants and world-class accommodations in Spartanburg during training camp.
To help keep athletes safe and performing at their best during the hot summer months, The Gatorade Company, a division of PepsiCo (NYSE: PEP), has once again joined forces with the NFL to educate athletes, parents and coaches about heat-related illness and the importance of proper hydration and nutrition before, during and after practices and games. The Beat the Heat program is built on communicating heat-illness prevention and treatment techniques, including the four downs of heat safety.
